Police investigating the theft of a cash machine from a Lindfield shop believe a stolen Land Rover from Crawley may have been used in the burglary.

Officers were called to the Cop-operative store in Lindfield High Street at around 3am on Sunday morning (November 15).

Witnesses saw a 4x4 in the area with a similar registration to a Land Rover which was stolen overnight from Crawley.

A spokesperson from Sussex Police said: “Police are investigating a burglary at the Co-operative stores in Lindfield High Street where, shortly after 3am on Sunday, November 15, the front window was smashed and a cash machine containing a substantial amount of money was dragged from inside by a large, 4x4 type vehicle.
