THERE are long queues after a tree toppled onto three cars this evening (November 3).

A spokesman at West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said no one was trapped but there are now long delays.

“A tree fell onto Copthorne Common Road and hit three cars,” he said.

A fire crew from East Grinstead was called at 4.20pm to help clear the scene.

Police are directing traffic in both directions along the A264 in Crawley down. The road is still believed to be partially blocked between the B2028 Turners Hill Road junction and the A2220 Copthorne Road junction.

There is also congestion on the A2011 eastbound to the A2004 Northgate Avenue junction and to the B2037 Snow Hill junction.
