Fallen trees have kept Crawley Borough Council’s works teams busy.

Following a night of stormy weather, teams have been called to deal with fallen trees in Langley Green, Ifield, Tilgate and Southgate today (Wednesday February 5).

In Greylands, Langley Green, a tree has fallen on to power cables. The council is waiting for clearance from energy supplier EDF before the tree can be moved.

In Fir Tree Close, Langley Green, a fallen conifer was removed while more storm-damaged trees are to be cleared from the entrance to a driveway.

In Ifield Drive, Ifield, an ivy covered tree fell through a garden fence and is being cleared.

In Baker Close, Southgate, a mature beech tree is blocking the council’s amenity green space to the rear of the house.

In Tilgate Park, a group of pine trees has been uprooted and county tree surgeons have been called to attend a large tree branch hanging over a public footpath in Tilgate Nature Centre.

If you have any pictures or video of fallen trees or flooding in the area, feel free to send them to the newsdesk.
