One of the local business events of the year is fast approaching so be sure not to miss out.

The Business Matter Awards black tie gala dinner will be held on Friday in the impressive surroundings of the Arora Hotel Gatwick. The event is a celebration of all that is great about the business community in the areas covered by JP titles the County Times, the Mid Sussex Times, the Crawley Observer and the Sussex Express.

It is also an ideal opportunity for business people to get to know the movers and shakers and business leaders in the region. Last year’s event was a triumph with guests waxing lyrical about the wonderful atmosphere. To ensure the night runs smoothly once again, celebrated broadcaster and journalist Fred Dinenage will preside over the night’s proceedings.

One of the South of England’s most recognisable faces, Fred has been on television screens for more 50 years and is best known as a regional news presenter. His presence at the helm will only enhance a great night at the awards. Jeanette Hockley, divisional events co-ordinator, said: “We are delighted to have Fred on board once again as he is a very popular host and will ensure the night runs smoothly. We organise a lot of great events and this one is no different.

I must say a big thanks to our spomsors, especially our principal backers JSPC, without whom this would not happen. Not only is it a chance to applaud the cream of our business community but it is a fantastic opportunity to network.”

This will be the third year of the awards and the impressive Arora Hotel Gatwick is an ideal venue due to it proximity to both Crawley town centre and one of Europe’s busiest airports. The cost of this exclusive evening will be £50 plus VAT and includes a welcome drink, three course meal and table wine plus awards entertainment.
