Part of the A23 was closed after a vehicle overturned, trapping the occupant, but is now open again, according to police.
Police were called at 12.02pm today after a vehicle overturned on the A23 southbound in Crawley, according to Sussex Police.
Small cutting gear was used to free the occupant of the vehicle, a spokesperson for West Sussex Fire and Rescue confirmed.
The individual was then left in the care of the ambulance service, the fire service added.
Crawley Police reported on their Twitter account that the A23 was closed between Gossops Drive and Cheals Roundabout.
Members of the public had been advised to avoid the area.
