UPDATE: Crawley Hospital evacuated

Staff and patients are now re-entering Crawley Hospital after it was evacuated.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service was called at 12.40pm to reports of a fault with the ventilation system, a spokesman said.

The hospital was evacuated as a precaution and no injuries were reported, the spokesman added.

Police said there were reports of smoke coming from the building and the road was closed at Smalls Mead at the request of the fire service.

Crawley Clinical Commissioning Group said on Twitter than engineers were on site and staff and patients were re-entering the building.
