A man who died after being hit by a train at Horley station was from Redhill.
Emergency services were called to the station at 5.05pm on Wednesday (May 28) and the line was closed.
The man was pronounced dead.
A spokesman for British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: “I can confirm that the person who was struck and killed by a train at Horley rail station on Wednesday, 28 May, was a 28-year-old man, from Redhill.
“Officers from BTP attended the incident, alongside colleagues from Surrey Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident was reported to BTP at 5.05pm and is being treated as non-suspicious.
“The man’s family have been informed and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
