Southern Water has apologised for delays after a burst water main forced a major Crawley road to close this morning (July 9).

The problem occurred on the A2220 Horsham Road at around 7.30am.

The road is still currently closed in both directions between the Albany Road junction and the Springfield Road level crossing as engineers continue to carry out repairs.

A spokesperson for Southern Water said: “We’re working as quickly as possible to reopen the road. We have crews on Horsham Road fixing a water main leak.

“We have closed the road whilst repairs are being carried out and a diversion has been put in place.

“We apologise for any disruption this work may cause.”
