The team down at Tilgate Nature Centre are getting into the Christmas spirit by singing a carol with our favourite animals!
Creating our very own 12 days of Christmas was a lot of fun and gave us a chance to celebrate the animals down at the Nature Centre in style!
It’s been a busy year for the Nature Centre, with plans for our new European section well under way.
New enclosures and new animals will be joining us very soon, including reindeer and snowy owls.
Our new raccoon dog, Sumo, arrived a few weeks ago and the staff are excited to see our famous talking raven Terry have a lovely new enclosure to explore.
We are now busy getting Christmas presents ready for the animals, from bells and mirrors for the birds to treat toys for the meerkats.
The alpacas and the Shetland ponies have requested a new food-filled football to kick around and the otters want a couple of toy boats for their pool!
We hope you enjoy our 12 Days of Christmas carol and that over the Christmas holidays will come down and visit some of our friendly animal residents – we are open every day except Christmas Day.
Finally, we just want to say thank you to all our visitors.
Please keep coming back to see the exciting new improvements to the Nature Centre in the New Year, and don’t forget to follow us on our new ‘Tilgate Park’ Facebook page for updates!
For now though, we want to wish you a very Merry Christmas, from Janet Rose (12 mice and seven roaches), Nick Hagon (11 goats), Nikki Menezes (10 spiders and six snakes), Eric Chipperfield (nine fish), Karen Rham (eight meerkats), Holly-Marie Michael (a coati with five rings), Emile Ellis (four sheep), Sandra Castle (two donkeys) and the rest of the Nature Centre team!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
