A musical family are singing Christmas carols in Crawley town centre in aid of St Catherine’s Hospice.
The foursome have been singing outside the Poundworld since 11am today (Tuesday December 23).
Stephen Hope, musical director of Sussex Festival Choir, his former wife, Gillian, and two daughters, Felicity and Alicia, hope to raise £500 for the charity and will today sing until 3pm and tomorrow return to sing from 11am to around 5pm.
Stephen said raising funds for hospices became a passion of his after his mother Marjorie died from a 14-month illness 22 years ago.
He said: “Rather than give to a hospital where you don’t know where it’s going to go I decided to give it to hospices.
“It’s something I find incredibly rewarding and humbling at the same time.
“I’ve got more passionate as the years go on.”
He thanked townspeople for their contributions so far and invited more to listen and give generously.
