Dragon Boats return to Tilgate Park

Waiting for Video...

DRAGON Boat racing returned to Tilgate Park on Sunday when teams from across the region took to the water to raise funds for St Catherine’s Hospice.

Superheroes and Vikings battled it out with Oompa Loompas and 80s fitness fanatics while spectators made a day of it enjoying picnics on the slope leading to Tilgate Lake.

Manor Royal firm CGGVeritas won a hotly contested final against the Nuffield Workout Warriors, the Magnificent 16 In Their Rowing Machine and Wonkers Wowers.

Jenna Durdle, corporate fundraiser at St Catherine’s, said she hoped the event will have met the £50,000 fundraising target and added: “We were very pleased with the turnout. People were very excited that we were back in Tilgate Park.”
