Volunteer wanted to help young carers

Volunteers are needed to help transport young carers.

West Sussex County Council is calling on people to become drivers for young carers.

Volunteers are asked to commit to 12 months in the role and will receive reimbursement for their travel and agreed out of pocket expenses.

They will receive comprehensive training, ongoing support and supervision.

Volunteers need:

Approximately three hours one evening a week

A genuine interest in young people

To be reliable and trustworthy, assertive, have good communication skills

To be sensitive to the needs of young carers

To be a safe and competent driver with your own fully insured vehicle and full, clean driving licence.
