Woman taken to hospital with facial injuries after Crawley collision

A woman was taken to hospital with facial injuries after the car she was driving collided with another and overturned.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the A264 Crawley Road, Faygate, at around 4pm on Friday (August 15).

A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance Service said paramedics treated the woman, 44, who was driving a silver Smart car, and took her to East Surrey Hospital.

The 34-year-old male driver of the grey Volkswagen Golf it collided with was unhurt.

Both cars, which were travelling in the same direction, braked sharply and collided after a vehicle ahead of them turned into Holmbush Farm.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said the A264 was partially blocked for about an hour while emergency services dealt with the incident.
