LETTER: Salute to town

It was a great pleasure to see the Annual Royal Marine Charity Sleigh Pull finish in the High Street on Saturday.

These guys and girls were pulling the sleigh by hand from London to Brighton and stopped over in our town on the halfway halt for overnight fun and a charity night in the White Hart. The Mayor and Mayoress of Crawley were there and really enjoyed themselves. I would like to thank Harveys Brewery in Lewes and Tanya and her team in the White Hart for there hospitality and to all the marine family on their efforts to raise more money for our injured marines and other services. We get bad press in Crawley from time to time but Saturday night the Crawley people dug deep in their pockets and handbags and did us proud. The people of Crawley, I salute you.
