THE SUN shone as thousands of women took to Tilgate Park on Wednesday (June 24) for this year's Race for Life.
Crawley's Race for Life in aid of Cancer Research UK was again a roaring success with more than 2,000 women donning their running shoes to walk, jog, or run the 5km race.
The charity aims to raise £127,000 for Cancer Research UK and Wednesday's massive turnout will have gone someway to achieving that target.
Elizabeth Maccoon, from Ifield, who took part in the race, said: "Over 2000 women participated, and the Mayor was there to open the race.
"It was brilliant, and we had lovely weather for it."
