ONLY seven anglers were brave enough to take on the challenge of a 12-hour match from 8pm on Saturday to 8am on Sunday.
Rain could not dampen the anglers spirits at Buchan Park after downpours lasting until 1am.

At the half way weigh in at 2am, Phil Harris had 45lbs and Steve
Hill followed with 23lbs 8ozs.

They remained the only contenders for the rest of the night.

Phil 'Bomber' Harris first picked up his nickname at the park which he treats like a home ground.

He was given the name because of his favourite method of catching fish which is 'corn over bomb', a tactic he used for this match.

Phil was always going to be a difficult man to beat and his excellent
total weight at the finish was 79lbs 6ozs for first place.

Steve Hill put up a brave challenge but his 56lb total was only good enough for second. Steve also favoured corn over bomb.

Callum Maccrassen finished third. At only 13-years-old was up
for the task and managed a 1lb 12oz bag.
