CRAWLEY Town chairman Vic Marley has explained why there is an unknown fourth person named as a director of the consortium taking over the club.
The club have already confirmed that Marley, Phil Jarman and Tom Scott are directors of Prosepct Estates Holdings Ltd but official documents seen by the Observer, list Birmingham-based E-Incorporators Ltd, fronted by Mark Butler, as another director of the club.

Marley explained: "We have an excellent relationship with the Crawley Observer, indeed a fine local newspaper. However on this occasion I wanted to clarify a few points.

"When Prospect Estates Holdings Ltd was formed, the agent we used was Mark Butler of E-Incorporators Ltd.

"When any new company is formed the listing company provides a holding director until the other necessary appointments are made and I would believe that anyone checking this out with any care would be aware this is how the process works.

"It disappoints me that anyone can have confusion over this.

"We ourselves are in the middle of a week that has many important meetings, which all are hopefully for the benefit of Crawley Town Football Club, to date they have gone well.

"Let me be fairly explicit, no other directors other than those previously stated at the outset of the takeover have been appointed.

"Mark Butler and his company did a fine job for us but that is the end of their association with us in relation to this venture.

"I look forward to talking more about our plans next week.

"In all honesty most of the big news had already been released but we will, by then, be in the position to answer any further questions that anyone has.

"We will be open and transparent, that is certain."
