CRAWLEY Town will be hoping to finish an eventful season off with some silverware on Bank Holiday Monday.
Off-the-field troubles have threatened to overshadow the last match of the season which sees them play rivals Brighton and Hove Reserves in the Sussex Senior Cup final.

Crawley have still not revealed to fans the details of their new owners, nor the role of former owner John Duly, who has returned to the club. They also have to pay a winding-up order for unpaid tax to Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs.

And although the competition has not been a priority for manager Steve Evans, he will be treating Monday very differently.

He said: "It will be a tough game for us. At the start of next season this competition won't be a priority for Steve Evans but we have always approached these games wanting to win.

"We've always sent teams out to win the match and hopefully we can end the season with some silverware.

"I want our supporters to witness us bringing back the cup to Crawley. It could be a classic."

Evans added: "We know Brighton will want to win and I think they will play as strong a team as they can.

"They have recognised League One players and it will be a good test for our young players."

Kick-off is at 3pm at Priory Lane, Eastbourne.
