CRAWLEY Town players braved the current heatwave to report back for pre-season training today (Monday).
They completed a tough session lasting two hours overseen by manager Steve Evans and assistant Paul Raynor.
Carried out on one of the hottest days of the year so far, the session was described as being a varied mixture of exercise and included work with footballs.
Boss Evans said: "The first day of pre-season is always an exciting one at every club.
"The objective is to get the lads introduced and get them through some work. The lads had the balls today for parts of the session and seemed to enjoy themselves.
"The new lads have slotted in very nicely and the banter was flying right from the start.
"Our first objective is to get as many players as possible unscathed through pre-season.
"The hard work, not talk, starts today."
