The Reds played most of the game against nine men and could have reached double figures but for an excellent performance by the Droylsden 'keeper Paul Phillips.

The home side were on top early on and on 13 minutes they were awarded a penalty for a foul on Tyrone Thompson.

Guy Madjo stepped up to take the penalty and calmly put the ball past Phillips in goal.

Droylsden, who have not won a game this season, then had a player sent off on 31 minutes for what appeared to be an elbow on Tyrone Thompson by Jamie McGuire.

And it was not long before the away side were down to nine men for a foul off the ball on Jamie Stevens. It was striker Steve Daly who walked off for an early bath on 37 minutes.

Tyrone Thompson then grabbed the second of the game on 44 minutes passing the ball past Phillips in goal.

The match was all but over on 56 mminutes after a well headed goal from Jamie Stevens. His fellow centre-half Pablo Mills then added to the goals with a similar header to make it 4-0 on 65 minutes.

The points were wrapped up with the fifth of the match on 77 minutes by substitute Pierre Joseph-Dubois.

Mills came through a fitness test to make the starting line-up along with Jame Krause, who was also doubtful before today's game.

Crawley were unchanged from Rushden despite a number of players reporting in sick on Friday. Steve Evans decided to send the whole squad home from training after receiving medical advice.

Droylsden made a couple of changes after their defeat against Stevenage on Tuesday. Terry Fearns and Robin Gibson came in to replace Danny Warner and Liam Murphy.
