REIGATE Priory made the first headlines of 2008 with the best win of their debut season in the Crawley League as they overturned current leaders Merstham Newton, 5-1.
Gareth Whiting-Balcombe (2), Michael Ellett, Charles Read and Karl Paddley scored for Reigate and Nathan McDonnell hit Newton's lone reply.

Maidenbower Village gave notice of intent when Nathan Payne rapped the St Francis Flyers' crossbar after just five minutes.

Payne went on to score a double after Danny Stoner had given Maidenbower the lead and Alex Lavan scored Flyers' goal.

A vibrant display by Ifield Edwards II was not enough against Three Bridges 'A' whose more clinical finishing helped them to a 4-2 success in an entertaining game.

Jamie Edwards (2), Joe Bagwell and Michael Nash scored for Bridges, while replies from Wayne Shaw and Michael Anderson ensured the game was wide open at 3-2 at one stage.
