Lovegrove on trial at Championship club
FORMER Crawley Town player Jamie Lovegrove has earnt himself a trial at Championship side Doncaster Rovers.
Lovegrove, 17, left Crawley Town in March after failing to agree a new contract before travelling to America for three months to play for the Dallas Forthworth Tornados.
Ex-Reds boss John Hollins recommended the youngster to newly promoted Rovers boss Sean O'Driscoll for a trial where Lovegrove has spent the week training.
The Crawley lad was given his first team debut for the Reds as a 16-year-old by Hollins.
He played in the second half of Doncaster's 9-1 win over Bassington in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday night.
He earnt Rovers a penalty after being brought down in the box but the resulting penalty by Fairhurst was saved by the Bassington 'keeper.
Rovers won promotion to the Championship after beating Leeds Utd 1-0 in the League One play-off final in May.
