CRAWLEY Town will have a new under-18s team competing in the Conference Youth League next season.
Supporters were told a new youth set-up is being put into place ready for the new season in partnership with Central Sussex College, at the fans' forum on Friday night.

Around 100 fans packed into the bar at Broadfield Stadium and were given the opportunity to ask questions to manager Steve Evans, club chairman Vic Marley, new co-owners John Duly, Steve Mansell and Phil Jarman and other members of the board.

The new kit for next season was unveiled by local models and orders were taken for replica copies.

It was also announced that the club had signed goalkeeper Simon Raynor from Torquay, who was Evans' No.1 summer target.

Speaking to the Observer at the end of the evening, Marley said: "The positivity was tremendous. The mood was magnificent - we had true fans here wanting to see the club succeed.

"How Steve Evans has managed to get some of the players here I don't know. Hopefully we'll have a really good season and our aim is to be pushing for the play-offs.

"Not many teams turned us over last season and with the additions Steve has made, the future is looking bright."
