SUSSEX Polo Club hosted their monthly charity day on Sunday to great success.
Hundreds of people turned up to watch the event at Rowfant, near Crawley Down.

The day helped to raise money for Strangles which is a disease that kills horses.

Club manager Sallie-Anne Lent said: "The sponsors were thrilled and the players were very pleased as well.

"They were glad we didn't get blown by the rain we had the night before.
"There was something for everybody on the day and we had ladies' teams which is not that usual.

"We had children of 12 and 16 in the final playing as though they were adults.

"We raised lots of money and we are still counting the money which collected money through auctions as well as collecting money on the door."

The men's Puffa team won the competition after beating Cowdary Park in the final.

The team included well known Sussex player Tarquin Southwell, who used to date model Jodie Kidd.
