‘Bring on Arsenal’ says Crawley boss after FA Cup win

Waiting for Video...

Crawley Town manager Richie Barker has admitted he wants a trip to test himself against Arsenal counterpart Arsene Wenger in the FA Cup Third Round.

The Reds secured their place, and a potentially money-spinning tie, with a comfortable 3-0 defeat of Conference South outfit Chelmsford City after goals from Nicky Adams, Billy Clarke and Gary Alexander.

Crawley were dominant, and had almost 40 efforts, to Chelmsford’s one half chance, and after seeing his side safely seal their passage, Barker would like a crack at a Premier League side.

He said: “If we get a big draw away from home, that would make a difference.

“We have to take what we are given, a trip to the Emirates would be nice. Personally, I was a big Sheffield Wednesday fan. but I’m not sure there is a great deal of money in that at the moment. I would say the fact that the club have been to Old Trafford before, for me that would be great because I’m a big fan of Sir Alex (Ferguson), but also Arsene Wenger as well, so to go the Emirates to meet and play against him would be excellent.”

Meanwhile, Barker praised a professional performance against Chelmsford - click play to watch his verdict.
