Although he would have preferred a second successive win, the cold wind and bobbly pitch hindered his side from playing free-flowing football.

He said: “I thought a draw was a fair result. It wasn’t the most entertaining of games.

“We took the lead I thought we had the better of the start of the second half. We got done be a set-piece.

“Four points out of two games after where we were last Saturday, I have to take that and be pleased with the lads’ efforts.

“The changes we have made and the new guys coming in have given us something.

“It was difficult out there today. You can see how bobbly it is and dry. On Tuesday night it was a bit slicker with dew on it.

“It is something we can think about, whether we can water the pitch a bit more before kick-off and try make it a slicker surface.

“I am disappointed we have let-slip a lead but I’m relatively pleased with many aspects of the game.

“We got better as the game went on. Our best spell was 15-20 minutes after half-time. We just didn’t quite hang on.

“We didn’t create as many chances as on Tuesday night. Chances at both ends were few and far between. Sometimes that happens.

“You are not going to hear me moaning about my players as I think they’ve responded really well on Tuesday and they’ve tried to do that again today in difficult circumstances.

“I thought Andy Bond and Frankie Sutherland in the middle of the park were excellent. I think Charles (Dunne) has added that experience - athleticism and a proper left back and have allowed us to go 4-4-2.

“We’ve got better in the last two games. A little bit of cash became available to bring a few players in and I think you can see the difference.
