Crawley swoop for experienced striker Hawley

CRAWLEY Town have made Karl Hawley their third signing of the January transfer window, with hours of deadline day remaining.

Former Walsall, Preston and Carlisle striker Hawley is one of the most prolific frontmen in the Football League, with 47 league goals in 112 games during his time with Carlisle, and the Reds have brought the 30-year-old in on loan from Notts County until the end of the season.

Manager Steve Evans said he was Crawley’s top transfer target from the day the window opened. He commented: “We have done some outstanding bits of transfer business today by bringing in Billy Clarke and now Karl Hawley.

“I have followed his career closely and I am absolutely delighted he is joining project promotion. He is a proven goalscirer and will bring a real presence to our attack.”
