Crawley beat third-placed Rye (140) by 32 runs at Southgate Park.
Kunal Kapoor scored 53 for Crawley and then took 5-43 with the ball, while Rye Kshermal Waingankar took 6-57.
It was a fascinating battle between three players with first class experience - Kunal and Harry Chaudhary for Crawley and Rye’s opening bowler Wainganka who plays for Mumbai and in 2008 took 5-37 against England, including the wicket of Kevin Pietersen for a duck.
Crawley promoted Prabh Singh and Matt Leese up the order and the tactic worked well.
Chaudhary (37) and Kunal (53) put on 75 for the fourth wicket and Seed Khawaja 19 managed to put on reasonable runs before being bowled out after 40 overs.
