Crawley 216 all out
Wisborough Green 146-9
Dominant Crawley were held to a frustrating draw by Wisborough Green.
Their Indian overseas player Kunal Kapoor shone with both bat and ball taking 5-47 and topscoring with 42.
Seed Khawaja (45) combined with Kunal to form the basis of their innings, having decided to bat after winning the toss.
Lower order batsmen Razwan (25), Warren Schulze (22) and Matt Leese (15 not out) helped boost their total despite the threat of Wisborough’s former Hampshire player Raj Maru who took 6-63.
Wisborough’s reply was based on an unbeaten innings of 57 by Ben Thatcher, who went in at No6 and formed a stubborn defence with No11 Maru, who was unbeaten on 12 at the end of their 47 overs.
Crawley captain Harry Chaudhary said: “On a good pitch we were happy with our batting and managed to get maximum batting points.
“In the end the pitch remained good and this helped Wisborough as we could not get their final partnership out. It was very frustrating.”
The draw gained earned Crawley 14 points to Wisborough’s 12 points and lifted them up a place from fourth to third.
Chaudhary added: “To win promotion we will need to beat Slinfold.”
Crawley visit Chichester club Stirlands this Saturday.
