Eagles secured promotion to Division Two with a six-wicket win over Bognor Regis.
Eagles needed two points to claim second place on the last match of the season.
When the host captain Zayne Bux won the toss and inserted the visitors the first objective was to claim the sixth wicket to gain those two points.
Just like most of this season the Eagles bowlers did not let the team down they showed once again their skill as they bowled out the strong batting line of the champions for just 162 in 44 overs.
Anjum Zafar claiming 5-28 was well supported by the ever reliable Imran Mehboob with 3-31. Elliot Clarke top scored for the visitors with a solid 40.
With the pressure off the home team got to work in quick time chasing the total with Rehan Hassan top scoring with 61 and both Azam Riyard and skipper Imran making 31 helped the hosts to 165-5 of 40 overs to claim all 30 points and with it the prize of promotion.
Crawley Eagles captain Imran Suddahazai said: “This has been a very successful season for the club just want to thank all the players and supporters who have helped us during the summer.”
Eagles secretary Ish Jalal praised the club’s committee for their work behind the scenes and also captain Imran Suddahazai.
He said: “It’s been a long hard season but all the hard work put in by the players and the club committee has paid off with this promotion into Division Two. “A special mention must go to the captain Imran who has lead the team for the past few years also Imran Mehboob has topped the bowling averages with 34 wickets, all of which have been top order batsmen.
“Rehan Hassan has been the top run scorer for the second season in a row with 534 runs. Rehan was instrumental in many of the winning chases this season. It was a successful season for all our other teams also as they finished in the top half of their respective leagues showing the depth of talent in the club which will be important as we move into next season.
“In conclusion I would like to send our congratulations to Crawley Cricket Club for their promotion into Division Three.
“It’s great to see local clubs having success in the Sussex Premier League. We wish them all the best for next season.”
