Ifield won the toss and opted to bat first but were in trouble early on as top order wickets fell at regular intervals and they quickly found themselves at 47 for 5.

But the innings was rescued with an excellent stand of 101 between Sunday skipper Daniel Groves and Dinesh Salunkhe.

Salunkhe played the anchor role leaving Groves to attack the bowling which he did with relish racking up eight sixes on his way to 89 before being bowled.

Salunkhe made a solid 40 and the Ifield innings finished on 205 after the allocated 40 overs.

Seaford in response made a strong start with openers Patrick McCaughan and Bilesh Jayamanne putting on 61 before Jayamanne was trapped LBW by Salunkhe for 17 but then a succession of wickets fell and the home side went from 61-1 to 86-6 with wickets for Salunkhe, Rahul Patel and Ollie Fenson-Gobel.

A couple of lower order partnerships frustrated Ifield for a while but they persevered and eventually bowled Seaford out for 153 with last man Cummins being run out by Vish Patel for 35.
