Worthing’s Mason Crane took 1-35 as England u19s lost to Sri Lanka in the quarter-finals of the World Cup.

England batted first but only posted a modest 185 all out with Crane, who plays for Hampshire, scoring 5.

Callum Taylor top-scored for England with 42.

In reply, Avishka Fernando hit 95 as Sri Lanka cruised to the target.

Crane bowled Charith Asalanka around his legs with the Sri Lankans needing just three to win.

Sussex’s George Garton was in the squad but did not play a game.
