Crawley Eagles bowler Shanaz Raheem took a brilliant 7/45 on his first team debut to help set up a thrilling win at Cherry Lane.
The visitors won the toss and elected to field. They were soon in trouble and Shanaz got to work taking a wicket in his first over with the score on 95-6 in walked Thomas Elliott batting at number 8 Thomas smashed 107 off only 77 balls to propel the final score to 242-9 of 53 overs.
Eagles were missing their captain Imran who will be out for the next game also.
Azam Riyard hit 64 Usman Bashir 26 and new young talent Hassan Yousaf 27 but with the score on 190-7 it required a cameo from the ever reliable Anjum Zafar who made an unbeaten 47 of 40 balls which included nine fours and ensured Eagles overhauled the target in the final over with four balls to spare.
On Saturday Eagles Travel to Steyning, 12.30pm start.

Crawley Eagles 2nds chased down 253 in just 40 overs to beat Rottingdean 2nd. The hosts betted first and made a solid 252-all out with Steve Johnson topscoring with 64.
Mohammad Arif was once again the best bowler in the match with 3-45 continuing his great form with the ball this season.
Eagles response started badly as both openers were dismissed at 21-2 but a 177 run partnership from Shankar 63 and the veteran Musawar Hussain 96 at nearly 7 runs an over Musawar’s 96 from only 90 balls included 16 fours and 1 six and helped the team claim their 11th win of the season.
