Bognor bowled Goring out for 185 after choosing to field despite Danny Pittham scoring 90, Graham Bush took 5-56 for Bognor, who comfortably knocked off the runs on the back of an opening stand of 125 between Mikey Harris (77 not out) and Andrew Quincey (57).

Burgess Hill lost by three wickets in a high-scoring clash against Steyning. Hill amassed 250-7 declared batting first thanks in no small part to an opening partnership of 112 between Tom Trowbridge (58) and Jack Simpson (57).

Third-placed Crawley Eagles closed to within two points of Burgess Hill via a seven-wicket win in another high-scoring contest away to Glynde & Beddingham.

Robert Mouland hit 134 as Glynde rattled up 252-6 batting first despite four wickets for Imran Mehboob. It wasn’t nearly enough, however, because Eagles raced to victory in less than 34 overs with Amaar Suddazahai hitting 102 not out and Jibran Khan 64.

Fourth-placed Portslade won a much lower scoring match at home to Rottingdean by 29 runs. Portslade were all out for 142 batting first, Danny Hansen top-scoring with 40, and George Ledden and Mark Grantham claiming four wickets each. Steven Case then bagged 5-19 off 14.1 overs and Paul Glover 3-39 to bowl Rottingdean out for 113.
