Another disastrous day at the Anvil office as for the third game running they conceded not only defeat but also giving away five goals, of which ten of this total have come in the second half, adding yet another gloomy statistic to an already gloomy season.

The Bears (BBH) well supported by their voiciferous support were the first to open proceedings with fullback Mark Bevan releasing Tiago Andrade for an early pot at goal well wide, than an early corner resulted in teenage Anvil keeper Sam Jackson being bought into action.

For the Anvils Jeff Mahadoo then set Ciaran Steers free but his final ball was also wide, the Bears on the offensive again then had Piers McDermott breaking thro but his final ball to Jack McNab was stopped by James Day, come 27 mins and the visitors finally broke thro when a cross by Ollie Moore found Keiron Gregg in space to rifle home. 0-1 Bears.

Nearest chance for the Anvils to open their account came on 23 when fullback Dan Vintens freekick created confusion in the visitors box with Blair Cooney frantically trying to poke the ball home but to no avail, further attempts by Steve Major and Geo Wallis failed to ruffle keeper James Fisher as the first half drew to a close in a half that had generally been low key throughout. HT 0-1 Bears.

Come the second half a half which has not been too kind for players or followers of all things Anvil recently, but Tom Frankland raised early hopes with a typical dash down the right flank finishing with a cross that fizzed across the face, on 54 newcomer Harry Lowe then replaced Steers.

On 52 a bad spell for the Anvils came with keeper Jacksons clearence only going as far as Andrade who had the easiest of chances to run the ball home, if that wasn’t bad enough a minute later another attack caused confusion in the Anvil box with the ball pinging around before Andrade added his second and the Bears third to increase their lead. 0-3 Bears.

By the hour mark the pattern of play had become predictable with the visitors now taking control, and come 67 another visitors corner led to fullback Bevan chesting the ball out to Andy Howard who squeezed the ball home thro a forest of legs to make it 0-4 Bears.

For the weary Anvils the only ray of light had come with striker Mahadoo’s performance, who continued to wage a one man war against the visitors defence with his mobility and pace, before being replaced on 72 by Grant Rigler who almost scored with a cross that seemed to run along the goal line despite many protests to the contrary, and then the same player shooting wide when well placed, before Greg Clarke for the Bears supplied the coup de grace on 84 with the Bears final goal, and full time now near. FT 0-5 BBH.
