Crawley Town fan, aspiring sports journalist and Oakwood School student Dylan Boorer, aged 13, watched Crawley Town draw 1-1 with Morecambe at the Checkatrade.com Stadium. After the game he spoke to two of the key Crawley Town players and wrote this report.

Superior Crawley were looking very confident in the first half and Lanre Oyebanjo’s right footed volley nearly put them in front but was saved by the Morecambe keeper.

Shortly after, Morecambe’s Jamie Devitt’s right-footed shot was saved, which was destined for the bottom left of the goal.

In the second half the Matt Harrold opened the scoring following up Lyle Della-Verde’s blocked shot.

Morecambe eventually fought back but Crawley defended well.

Scoring is always is a really good feeling but we as a team were unfortunate to draw the game.

But in the last 10 minutes of the game, Shaun Miller’s right-footed shot made the scores level and the spoils were shared.

During the game, even though the match attendance was low at 1,697, the Crawley fans were vocal throughout.

After the tense game I managed to talk to Crawley Town’s goal scorer Matt Harrold, to find out what he thought of the match. “Scoring is always is a really good feeling but we as a team were unfortunate to draw the game.”

I also met the Red Devils number 16 Jon Ashton who put in a very impressive defensive performance in today’s game.

“I thought I played quite well today, however, me and all my teammates are very disappointed we couldn’t hang on and get the three points.”

Crawley Town and Morecambe remained in 16th and 18th respectively in the League 2 table.

Mark Yates’ men will travel to Luton Saturday, hoping they can get a win.

Morecambe host Wimbledon, who are currently in a play off position.
