Crawley Town’s good start to the season has been inspired by Chelsea legend John Terry says head coach Dermot Drummy.
The Reds boss spent five years at Chelsea as youth and under-21 team manager and then international head coach.
Reds are joint-top of the table after three games and are unbeaten with two wins and a draw.
Drummy stressed Tuesday night’s 1-0 win away to Exeter City was gained through sheer determination.
He said: “In the first half Exeter were very dominant and we didn’t do very well.
“We managed to stay in the game and then came on at the end.
“We got it through sheer determination. The work ethic and work-rate is there, you need to maintain a winning focus, to push themselves beyond.
“John Terry has got a winning mentality. When you’ve spent years observing someone. It’s what top players do.
“I’ve told the players this is what I want - I relay my experiences of other people. Why not pass on what elite players do? Mentally you’ve got to turn up.”
