Crawley Town striker Matt Harrold should make a return to the squad for this Saturday’s visit to his former club, fifth-placed Bristol Rovers.
Harrold scored 27 goals in 76 appearances for the Gas during a three-year spell from 2011-14.
The Reds frontman has scored eight goals this season, missed Easter Monday’s 2-0 defeat at home by Exeter City, suffering from a knee problem.
But he returned to training today (Thursday), along with Lyle Della-Verde and Lanre Oyebanjo, who also missed the game.
Yates said: “All three trained today as did Gwion (Edwards) who only played for 45 minutes on Monday.
“So we should have some more options on Saturday although we will assess everyone again after training tomorrow.
“Liam is back at Wolves. Hopefully it’s not too bad but we probably won’t know for 24 hours or so after it settles down properly.”
“Sometimes when you carry a small squad, a quicky turnaround does catch-up with you with knocks.
“Matt was a big miss for us and the sooner he is back the better.
“He had a whack on his knee against York and there was no-way he could play on Monday.
“He’s a big target-man and his game naturally lends itself to the physical game and he’s done brilliant for us this year.”
Oyebanjo is rated as 50-50 to return, having missed the last two matches with an injured thigh, having recovered from his long-standing knee injury which kept him out of action since the end of last season.
