Suzanne Davies and top scorer Rebecca Carter won the big awards at Crawley Wasps LFC’s end-of-season presentation night.

Midfielder Davies was named first-team player of the year by manager Paul Walker, while her team-mates selected 21-goal striker Carter - who has agreed to join Women’s Premier League South side Lewes for next season - as their player of the year.

The Ladies first-team squad received photos from their Sussex County Cup final against Brighton & Hove Albion, played in March.

Defender Gemma Villette, who impressed after jumping two divisions following a spell at Dorking, picked up the most improved player while the squad player award - for setting an example with their attitude and level of commitment - went to left-back Michelle Ward.

The rest of the awards were won by the following players.

Ladies reserves: Manager’s player of the year: Zoe Martin; Players’ player of the year: Nicholle Smith; Most improved player: Tracey O’Hagan; Squad player award: Josie Porter.

Under-16s: Manager’s player of the year: Sarah Pepper; Players’ player of the year: Rebecca Willis; Most improved player: Katie Whitcombe; Squad player award: Tamzin Byworth.

Under-15s: Manager’s player of the year: Jodie Barker; Players’ player of the year: Fei Wilde; Most improved player: Beth Clawson & Abbie Chart; Squad player award: Caitlin Baigent.

Under-14s: Manager’s player of the year: Amy Perry; Players’ player of the year: Chanelle Gainsborough; Most improved player: Chloe Upton; Squad player award: Lauren Graves.

Under-11s: Manager’s player of the year: Chloe Monniot; Players’ player of the year: Lucy Neill; Most improved player: Ashleigh Woodhams; Squad player award: Michaela Bullet.
