A brace by Haywards Heath’s Freddie Barker sealed the three points in this high-paced top end of the table battle.

Barker opened the ascoring on 25 minutes for the visitors.

Oakwood went close to scoring on 39 minutes but the keeper got down well and turned a low strike around the post.

Oaks equalised from the ensuing corner which was sent in and Aiden Cawte swooped down to got in a free header that went in at the near post on 40 minutes.

Heath sent a high ball to come in to the penalty area and Milborrow under the pressure of a heavy challenge dropped the ball for Haywards Heath’s quick-reacting Barker to place into the centre of the goal.

On 81 minutes Haywards Heath took a throw in that ended up being put across the box for substitute Matt Geard to head in from five yards out.

The Oaks went up a gear and pushed forward hoping to get a second but couldn’t produce the clear-cut opportunity to get them close.
