Crawley Down Gatwick bounced back from their disappointing weekend defeat with an encouraging 3-2 win at home against Chipstead.

Tuesday night’s game became the second at the Haven Centre this season to be interrupted by floodlight failure, bringing an unscheduled 15-minute suspension to play after 27 minutes of the first half.

Down forged a 2-0 lead by half-time through goals by Luke Blewden and Jack Page.

However after the break the visitors came back to 2-2 through goals by Jamie Goodchild on 67 minutes and six minutes later by Joe Nwoku.

Just when it seemed like victory had been thrown away, Blewden headed in his second goal of the game and his side’s third to clinch the three points.
