Bridges’ supporters were thrilled by a dominant display which would have ended in a bigger scoreline but for the brilliance of Walton & Hersham goalkeeper Sean Fallon.

Hakeem Adelakun had a chance for Bridges as he turned quickly to shoot along the ground but it was saved by Fallon.

Matt Whitehead had a curling shot saved while Steve Sargent collected a pass from Adelakun but his hooked shot just cleared the crossbar.

Chances and shots by Matt Whitehead, Ben Godfrey and Aadelakun were raining down on the Walton goal but with no success.

Finally to reward all the hard work, after 27 minutes ADELAKUN crossed the ball from 35 yards, but it swerved and went like a rocket into the top left-hand corner of the goal.

It was surely an early candidate for goal of the season.

MATT WHITEHEAD made it 2-0 eight minutes later when he collected a pass from Sam MacVicar and side-footed the ball into the goal.

David Koduah and Aaron Watson both had good chances to pull a goal back for the home side as half-time approached.

Whitehead was caused chaos down the left wing with his accurate crosses, Godfrey had all sorts of trickery on display and Adelakun was using his strength to hold and shield the ball.

Adelakun had a further three good chances, a shot well saved, a shot across the goal which went for a thow-in and finally when completely through he hooked his shot wide of an open goal.

Bridges: Thorp, Mobsby, Daniel, Pulling, Donaghey, Sargent, MacVicar (Lansdale 68), Carney (Capt), Godfrey (Mutongerwa 89), Adelakun (Gannon 88), Whitehead. Unused subs: none.
