Three Bridges took part in a minute’s silence in memory of those who had died in the recent Shoreham disaster, the game got underway on the 3G artificial pitch.

Hakeem Adelakun then found himself clean through but only managed to hook the ball well wide.

Matt Whitehead went on another of his trademark runs and from the resulting corner the ball was cleared downfield where Steve Metcalfe, Worthing captain, should have scored but his shot rebounded wide from the mass of legs.

After 31 minutes, a free-kick taken by Hakeem Adelakun to Lee Carney then found the head of CALLUM DONAGHEY who glanced the ball into the net.

The slippery pitch was still causing problems for both teams with very few chances.

Matt Whitehead had a good chance after collecting a pass from Tony Garrod and then Worthing’s Will Hendon gave the ball to Casey Johnson but his cross fell to nobody.

As half-time approached, frustration set in for the home side as Omar Bugiel was cautioned for kicking out at Callum Donaghey and Kieron Thorp kept Three Bridges in the lead with a magnificent finger-tip save whilst on the ground.

Within minutes of the restart, Bridges went further ahead as a pass from Adelakun was skillfully gathered-in by TONY GARROD and his low shot found the corner of the goal.

Brannon O’Neill forced another brave save from Kieron Thorp who hurt his back in the process but was partched up and able to complete the match.

Frustration caused Omar Bugiel to receive a second caution for another foul on Callum Donaghey which sent the home side down to 10 men.

A series of substitutions followed for both teams as the game came to an end and a well deserved victory for Bridges who now move into the top half of the Dision One South table.
