FOOTBALL: Fox is Three Bridges Player of the Year
GOALKEEPER Mark Fox was the winner of the Player of the Year award presented by Crawley Observer sports editor Graham Carter at the Three Bridges FC presentation evening on Saturday.
It was a tough decision with several worthy candidates but his consistency between the sticks proved decisive.
Fox appeared in 46 of the 51 matches Bridges played in all competitions and was a key player in helping them finish in their highest placing for 20 years, fifth in Sussex County League Division One.
Carl Dunk and Dean Wright were joint topscorers, both with 17 out of the total of 108 goals scored during the season.
They were rewarded top awards, Dunk winning the coveted Players' Player trophy and Wright claiming both the Best Newcomer and Young Player awards.
Goal of the season went to James Grant for his wonderful effort away to Hassocks in the RUR Cup.
Three Bridges are hoping to arrange two big friendlies in pre-season against professional clubs.
League Two club Exeter City should be the club's opponents at Jubilee Field on Saturday, August 1.
And they also hope to reinstate their annual local derby battle against Conference club Crawley Town on a date to be confirmed, after a break last summer.
The Exeter City clash is being organised via former Crawley Town co-caretaker manager John Yems, who is now assistant manager for the Devon club, who have just won automatic promotion to League One.
