On Monday Grattons Ladies played a home friendly match against Langney Sports IBC.
It was a close game all afternoon, which everyone enjoyed.
Unfortunately for Grattons, Langney won three shots on the final end of the afternoon, giving them a narrow victory, 94-95.
Captain Sue said: “We were so close to winning but it was not to be.”
Top rink was Dee Sharman, Margaret Blackmore, Teresa Stannard and Carol Templeman.
On Tuesday the ladies were at home again for a County League Match against Worthing IBC, and played hard to have their first win of the season in the League, winning three rinks and an overall win, 99 -72. Captain Sue said: “ A great afternoon, everyone is really pleased.”
Top rink was Pat Capper. Mary Wollard, Sandie Rogers and Sue Gisby (pictured on page 61).
On Wednesday it was the mixed team’s turn to play Woodlands Park.
Although this is an outdoor club almost all of their players also belong to indoor clubs and it showed.
Woodland quickly built up a lead of 28 shots by tea. A refreshed Grattons soon started to cut Woodland lead.
Within a few ends they were just eight shots behind with everything to play for.
Unfortunately, Woodlands changed up a gear and finished winners by 26 shots.
Captain Brian said: “We tried hard but were up against a really good team”.
