Crawley Boxing Club continued their run of winning form on Saturday night in Portsmouth.

Seniors Pete Murphy and Sher Khan returned home with a hard-fought but well deserved points wins.

It was no surprise when the Crawley fighter was awarded the decision on every judges’ scorecard.

Light-heavyweight Murphy continued his excellent run of form as he totally outboxed the Isle of Wight’s Danny Snape from the Ventnor Boxing Club.

Murphy’s accurate jabs constantly found the target, gradually breaking down the Hampshire boxer’s resolve.

Murphy then ripped him up with some devastating short punches. The accuracy and power of Murphy’s punches soon opened up a nasty cut over the eye, and although Snape survived to the final bell he finished the bout a well beaten fighter.

Murphy extending his winning run with a unanimous points decision.

Khan also wrapped up a unanimous points decision as he beat Andy Moore from the Gym 01 boxing club.

Southpaw Moore proved to be an aggressive customer but Khan soon took control, boxing behind a fast left jab to keep Moore on the back foot.

It was no surprise when the Crawley fighter was awarded the decision on every judges’ scorecard.

Both Murphy and Khan move on to Crawley Boxing Club’s annual blockbuster dinner show on Friday, May 1 at the Felbridge Hotel. Joining them on the bill will be team-mates, Shawn Mellows, George Chapman, James Verbeeten, Sam Northcott and Kirsty Skingle.

There are still a number of spectators tickets priced at £15 available from the club. Phone 07786 907761 to book your tickets now.
