Crawley AC clinched an impressive collection of medals at the Sussex Track & Field Athletics Championships at K2.
Orla Brothers recorded a Championship record in the heat of the U17s 300m with 39.6 secs before going on to win the final in 40.0s.
This beat the previoius best of 40.44s in 2006.
It was a Crawley 1-2 in this event with Sian Bishop gaining silver in 41.9s.
Orla followed up magnificently with another gold in the U17s 200m in 25.4s.
Jason Hussain also gained a great sprint double, winning both the senior men’s 100m and 200m golds in 10.9s and 21.2s.
Crawley’s Aaron Carter won a silver behind the mighty Hussain in the 200m in 22.2s and also gained silver in the senior men’s 400m in 50.5s.
Crawley AC middle distance coach Vince Golding praised: “Orla Brothers’ performances were an outstanding achievement and she should do well in the Schools Championships.”
Brothers’ 300m time was the National Standard and was the fastest recorded in the UK this year.
George Grainger won gold in the senior men’s 400m hurdles in 56s.
Matt Overall took gold in the U20s men’s 400m hurdles in 58.6s and Sam Cunningham won silver in the same event in 58.9s.
Cunningham was in great form as he also came away with gold in the U20s men’s 200m in 23.6s.
Amy Barclay won the senior women’s 100m hurdles in 14.4seconds.
There was success in the women’s 400m events with Holly Turner winning gold in the senior version with 56.4s and Holly Talbut-Smioth claiming gold in the U20s in 61.3s, beating club-mate Paige Clarke who won silver with 63.6s.
