Foresters B beat A team as Crawley’s lead narrows

Blades narrowed the gap at the top to three points with three matches left to play.

Blades A scored another 9-0 win despite Steve Barby being pushed all the way by Horsham B’s Graham Barnes just edging it 14-12 in the fifth, George Hazell and Tony Catt won three each.

Foresters B took full advantage of Wes Bush-Harris being on holiday to record a splendid 5-4 victory against their A team.

Crawley B took two points from their A team with John Callcut scoring four-set wins against Barrie Gilbert and Phil Richardson. Paul Carter won his three.

Joe Comper and John Robinson both gained maximums to defeat Horsham A 6-3. Harry Collins, Dennis Hayden and Gary Pells all beat Graham Beaney.

Foresters C gained a comfortable 6-3 win over delpleted Copthorne A.

Tony Morris clinched Horsham Spinners B’s only points beating Phil Nicholls and receiving a walkover. Dave Steel won three for a two-man Foresters D.

Dan Pound narrowly beat James Wheatley only winning the fourth 19-17 and recovering from 7-1 down in the fifth to win 11-9. B’s Mark Collins beat Adam Todd three-straight and also beat James while team-mate Matt Craig won two also.
