Crawley 4 Gillingham 0

Crawley lead at the top of the table with a comfortable win against Gillingham.

Captain Alex Watson said: “We were very professional, we probably should have won by more but we got the job done and that was important after last week’s result we were keen to follow it up and try to extend the lead at the top of the league.

“With the results going our way we now have a three-point lead on second place and four-point lead on third. Which gives us a little daylight but there is still no room for error in the second half of the season.”

Carl Wright then fired in from the top of the circle. Brendan Maccaoilte also notched after a well worked passage of play down the right. Rob Gate then broke behind the last man and dinked the ball over the on rushing keeper to make it 3-0.

Crawley controlled the game for the most part and with Gillingham players coming and going to the sin bin regularly, it allowed Crawley to score another through Bettesworth to make it 4-0.
