At the start of the year both captains nominate charities who they will raise funds for during the year.

This year Ifield club captain, Bob Hazlewood and lady captain Sally Brown chose as their charities MND (Motor Neurone Disease) and MacMillan Cancer Support.

Ifield members supported both charities magnificently and as a result a record breaking total of over £11, 750 was raised for both charities.

The biggest single event was when Sally Brown and four other lady members undertook to play 72 holes of golf from dawn to sunset of one day in summer. A feat that was made all the more remarkable as it was played on the hottest day of the summer, when temperatures exceeded 80 degrees for most of the day.
